A Message from our Headteacher: Support and Lead by Example

This Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th October, we are looking forward to a fantastic weekend of rugby at the Old Grangonian Club, which will host the ARUSA Tournament Finals.

And we have some great news to share! Four of the five finals will feature teams from our Club across different age categories: two Old Boys teams, as well as the M18 and M16 teams, made up of pupils from our School. This is a wonderful opportunity to come together as a Community and support our players as they compete in these important matches.

The match schedule is as follows:

Saturday 3rd October

  • 10:00 | Pre-Intermedia Final: Old Boys vs Old Macks
  • 17:30 | First XV Final: Old Boys vs COBS

Sunday 4th October

  • 12:15 | M16 Final: Old Boys (1° & 2°EM pupils) vs Old Macks
  • 14:00 | M18 Final: Old Boys (3° & 4°EM pupils) vs DOBS

The event is organised by ARUSA. Tickets are available through Ticketpro:

An Opportunity to Live Our Values and Lead by Example

We invite our entire Community to come together and fill the sidelines with enthusiasm, encouragement and true Grangonian spirit.

Rugby is about much more than the final score. It is about effort, commitment, respect and teamwork — values our pupils develop throughout their time at the School and that our Old Grangonians continue to demonstrate long after leaving.

As we come together for these finals, we would like to encourage everyone to enjoy the weekend in the spirit of respect, sportsmanship and teamwork that rugby, the Old Grangonian Club and our School all seek to promote. Cheering enthusiastically for our teams, celebrating great plays, recognising the effort and commitment of the players, and showing respect for everyone involved are all part of what makes rugby such a special experience.

Every one of us has the opportunity to Lead by Example. Through the way we support, celebrate and enjoy the game together, we can make these finals a true reflection of the Grangonian spirit we are so proud to share.

With this in mind, we would also like to share a few words from our Headteacher, Mrs Kate Ingamells-Bland:

We wish all our teams the very best of luck and hope to see our entire Community out in force this weekend, enjoying some fantastic rugby and showing, once again, what it truly means to be a Grangonian!
