We are all very excited for having a special place where to practise drawing and developing ideas, as well as keeping a register of their process and progress.&nbsp;Children have been using them carefully and with a lot of respect, making sure to look after them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 1\u00b0 B\u00e1sico we used the sketchbooks to have a first approach in knowing the North American artist Keith Haring, who made it fun to look at the human body and its movement. Pupils observed and tried to copy his artwork to then create &#8220;Haring&#8221; bodies of their own in new positions and using bright colours.&nbsp; It was challenging and so much fun!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-7387b849 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:100%\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery alignwide has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped has-lightbox wp-block-gallery-3 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-id=\"107797\" src=\"https:\/\/grangeschoolbulletin.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/1\u00b0-Basico-Keith-Haring-All.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-107797\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-id=\"107798\" src=\"https:\/\/grangeschoolbulletin.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/1\u00b0-Basico-Haring.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-107798\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-id=\"107799\" src=\"https:\/\/grangeschoolbulletin.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/1\u00b0-Basico-sketchbook.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-107799\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2\u00b0 B\u00e1sico pupils were also thrilled with their new sketchbooks.&nbsp;They learnt about the British artist David Hockney and his colourful landscapes. In order to understand the colour palette he used, children were encouraged to interpret one of Hockney&#8217;s landscapes, paying special attention to the complimentary colours and the textures the artist painted.
