Last week, Boston hosted the <em>Learning and the Brain<\/em> conference, focusing on <em>Teaching Behaved, Regulated, and Resilient Kids<\/em>. While many doctors highlighted the ongoing health crisis, Professor George Bonanno shared insights about resilience that resonated deeply with me. It reminded me of something my father, a retired psychiatrist, often said: knowledge evolves, and so does our language. Decades ago, phrases like &#8220;I\u2019m depressed&#8221; were strictly medical terms; today, even children use them casually to express sadness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Don\u2019t get me wrong\u2014there are people genuinely suffering, and their struggles deserve attention. However, we must also be cautious about how our brains are wired. Dwelling on the negative can overshadow the positive aspects of life. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So, here\u2019s a gentle reminder: let\u2019s celebrate how happy our children are, how they engage with one another, and the joy they bring.
