Kate Ingamells joined The Grange School as Head of Upper Prep in February 2022 from Northfields International School, Mauritius. She was the Head of the Prep School and Vice-Principal at Northfields, having originally joined as Director of Sports and Extra Murals. Prior to working at Northfields, she was a member of the Senior Management Team at The Mombassa Academy in Kenya, as Head of Physical Education. She has also previously worked as Head of Physical Education and a Teacher of Physical Education in the United Kingdom for seven years, and in the early part of her career, she taught English in Les Sables d’Olonne, France.
Kate Ingamells has gained extensive experience in Pastoral Care and Academic Leadership in the schools in which she has worked over the past twenty-four years. As a senior leader she has valuable experience as a child-centred professional, who is focused on delivering high quality education through outstanding learning and teaching, and who believes the school community as a whole is paramount to pupil and school success.
A graduate in Sport and Human Movement Studies from the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff, Kate Ingamells also holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from the same university. Throughout her career, she has contributed to extra-curricular activities, such as swimming and outdoor adventure, which are passions of hers. As a school leader she has ensured that cultural events, music, arts and drama have their rightful place in school life.
