Do you know what The GRAF is?
The GRAF – The Grange Arts Festival – is a collaborative and interdisciplinary artistic project that takes place throughout the year, connecting pupils with high-quality creative projects. The purpose is to make the Arts pillar visible at The Grange School, value the arts and culture, and support an education of excellence.
The GRAF was founded in 2018 with the conviction that an education of excellence engages pupils and the community with the experience of the arts and culture.
By connecting them through collaborative projects, we aim to develop critical thinking and environmental awareness, while valuing our cultural heritage and contributing to society.
Every year, the aim has been to inspire the Community with a yearly concept, motivating teachers and pupils with interdisciplinary links and co-creations together with national and international collaboration. An example of this, was the collaboration with Museo Nacional del Prado, Madrid and Fundación Amigos Museo Nacional del Prado in 2023. This collaboration opened a unique opportunity for our Community. It was a privilege to count on the support of one of the most important museums in the world.

The Grange School (The GRAF) and Corporación Cultural de La Reina Collaboration Agreement
This agreement continues our strategic plan to highlight the importance of the arts, to make the Arts pillar visible and connected to the Spirit of Service, aiming of promoting excellence in education. It allows our pupils to appreciate their environment and contribute to their community and country.
Following this collaboration agreement, the Lower Prep Choir has been invited to participate in the opening of their art gallery and cultural space, Casa Nemesio Antúnez. Due to weather conditions last Friday, the concert has been rescheduled, and further information will be provided soon.
TIME: Literary Awards Announcements
As part of The GRAF 2024/Time, our pupils have been reflecting on the concept of time across various school subjects, inspired by the works of award-winning author María José Ferrada.

The GRAF 2024/ Time
This year we are on the 7th edition of The GRAF, and the aim has been to think about the concept of humanity and its deep connection to the concept of time, including its rhythms, silences, memories, and traces.
Since the beginning of the year, our 2° Básico and 2° EM pupils have been developing creative works based on Time across the School subjects inspired by the artwork of two renowned artist Mario Irarrázabal (Sculptor) and María José Ferrada (Writer)
During the first semester, our pupils had the privilege to create human figure pieces observing Mario Irarrázabal’s sculpture together with the collaborative ceramic work led by artists Mariana Tocornal and Olivia Müller.

On Tuesday 7th May, we had the privilege of celebrating the official inauguration of The GRAF 2024/Time, which was made even more meaningful by the unveiling of the Mario Irarrázabal sculpture and the presence of the artist himself.
During the ceremony our pupils honoured us with their beautiful songs and speeches celebrating the presence of the artist during this event. Furthermore, the artist Mario Irarrázabal inspired the audience with his meaningful words. Also, our guests, had the opportunity to watch for first time the video related to the Human Figure Process.

The Arts Collection has been created by our pupils in collaboration with prominent Chilean artists as National Art Prizes Eduardo Vilches and Guillermo Núñez along with renowed artists such as Francisca Aninat, Mónica Bengoa, Gonzalo Cienfuegos, José Vicente Gajardo, Mario Irarrázabal, Paz Lira and Olivia Müller, among others.
All these artworks are part of our cultural heritage and are deeply connected to our pupils’ education as they move around the School. The Arts Collection also involves Spirit of Service, promoting our heritage in the pursuit of making the creative Arts more visible.
