Our 3º Básicos brought some mythical creatures to life! Working in groups, the children designed and built their own Chinese dragons, learning important skills in planning, teamwork, and creativity along the way.

Planning and Shaping
Pupils began by using templates to carefully mark out shapes on cardboard. With precision, they scored, folded, and cut the pieces, making sure everything was neat and safe.

Making Strong Structures
Next came the challenge of building strong and sturdy 3D shapes. Using the correct tools and techniques, pupils joined their pieces together to create solid structures that would later form parts of the dragon.

Building the Dragon’s Body
Once the components were ready, groups collaborated to assemble the larger sections. They combined the individual 3D shapes to create impressive dragon bodies, ensuring that each unit stood strong.

Painting and Final Touches
Finally, the fun of decoration began! Pupils painted their dragons with bright colours, bold patterns, and interesting textures. They shared tasks respectfully and made their creatures as striking as possible.

The project was a wonderful mix of design, problem-solving, and artistic flair. And now, our Chinese dragons are proudly on display in the Balfour Quad. But don’t be alarmed – it’s a parade, not a dragon attack!
