Dear Senior School Parents,
It is my pleasure to welcome you and your families to the 2026 academic year.
For those whom I have not yet had the opportunity to meet, I joined The Grange School recently in February 2026 as Head of Senior School, bringing over 20 years of experience in international education. Originally from the UK, I have spent most of my career working in British international schools in Peru, most recently serving as Head of Newton College in Lima, Peru. My professional focus has always centred on academic excellence, student wellbeing, and building strong, values-driven communities. I am bilingual in English and Spanish and committed to developing a culture of high expectations, collaboration, and future-focused learning for all pupils.
7° Básico and New Pupils:
A particularly warm welcome goes to our 7° Básico pupils who are joining Senior School from Upper Prep. This marks an important and exciting transition in their School journey. On their first day, pupils should proceed directly to the John Jackson Quad, where they will be met by their tutors and guided through the start of their Senior School experience. New pupils to the Grange this year should also go to the John Jackson Quad where they will be picked up. We look forward to helping them settle quickly and confidently into this new stage.
As we begin the year, I would also like to reinforce two important reminders regarding School expectations and national regulations.
Mobile Phone Policy and Chilean Law (Ley 21.801)
As you will be aware, Ley 21.801, which comes into effect in the 2026 academic year, prohibits the use of mobile phones and digital devices (including tablets and smartwatches) for pupils in pre-school, primary and secondary education establishments across Chile. The law aims to improve student concentration, wellbeing, and positive convivencia within schools. Our School policy aligns fully with this legislation. We ask for your support in reinforcing this expectation at home so that together we can create a focused and respectful learning environment for all pupils.
Friday Dismissal Time
Please also remember that on Fridays, dismissal for all Senior School pupils is at 2:00pm. We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring timely collection or transport arrangements.
