Estimados Apoderados:

Junto con saludar y darles la bienvenida al año académico 2026, que se inicia el próximo lunes, queremos recordarles información relevante respecto del uso de dispositivos móviles en el Colegio.

Recientemente fue promulgada la Ley 21.801, que regula el uso de dispositivos móviles en establecimientos educacionales del país. Esta normativa refuerza la responsabilidad de los colegios de resguardar entornos de aprendizaje protegidos y libres de distracciones, velando por el bienestar integral de niños y adolescentes.

En coherencia con esta ley y con nuestro compromiso permanente con el cuidado y la protección de nuestros alumnos, les recordamos que The Grange School es una “mobile free zone”. Esto significa que no está permitido el uso de dispositivos móviles personales durante la jornada escolar. Esta disposición rige para todos los dispositivos móviles, incluyendo teléfonos celulares, relojes inteligentes y cualquier otro equipo con conectividad digital. Aplicaremos esta norma con claridad y consistencia.

El cumplimiento de esta medida requiere el apoyo de las familias, especialmente en la formación de hábitos digitales responsables y en el refuerzo de límites claros.

Les solicitamos especialmente:

• No normalizar la necesidad de estar permanentemente conectados durante el horario escolar.
• Supervisar horarios y contenidos de uso en el hogar.
• Reforzar que esta norma es una medida de cuidado y protección.
• Respaldar las decisiones institucionales frente a eventuales incumplimientos.

En las próximas semanas compartiremos el protocolo actualizado, actualmente en elaboración, el cual detallará los procedimientos asociados.

As we prepare to begin the 2026 academic year next Monday, we would like to remind you of important information regarding the use of mobile devices at School.

Law 21.801, recently enacted in Chile, regulates the use of mobile devices in educational establishments. This legislation reinforces schools’ responsibility to provide protected learning environments free from unnecessary distractions, safeguarding the overall wellbeing of children and young people.

In line with this law and with our ongoing commitment to the care and protection of our pupils, we remind you that The Grange School is a “mobile free zone”. This means that the use of personal mobile devices is not permitted during the School day. This policy applies to all mobile devices, including mobile phones, smart watches and any other digitally connected equipment. This rule will be applied clearly and consistently.

The effectiveness of this measure depends on the support of families, particularly in reinforcing responsible digital habits and clear boundaries at home.

We kindly ask that you:

• Avoid normalising the need for pupils to be permanently connected during the School day.
• Supervise device usage and content at home.
• Reinforce that this policy is a measure of care and protection.
• Support the School’s decisions in the event of non-compliance.
