On Monday 2nd March, from 8:45 to 9:15 am, Senior School held its First Assembly of the 2026 academic year.

This marked the first Senior School Assembly of the year and was also the first Assembly led by our new Head of Senior School, Mr Richard Quantrill, together with Mrs Kate Ingamells-Bland, Headteacher of The Grange School, and the Senior School leadership team: Mr Ciaran O’Rourke, Assistant Head Academic; Mrs Verónica Walbaum, Assistant Head Pastoral; and Mr Mauro Comuzzi, Head of Sports.

Mr Quantrill addressed Staff and pupils to welcome the Community back for 2026 and to introduce himself in his new role. In particular, he spoke to our new pupils, to 7° Básico pupils as they begin a new stage in their School journey, and to 4°EM pupils as they start their final year at The Grange School. He encouraged pupils to value and enjoy their time at School, reminding them that happiness is not something to postpone: “Many pupils think happiness starts later, after the tests, after the PAES, after university. But life does not begin after School. It happens during it.” The full speech is available by clicking here.

In addition, our new Head Girl and Head Boy, Amaya Selman and León Peñafiel, also addressed their peers, sharing warm words of encouragement and expressing their happiness at returning to School. Each invited pupils to support one another throughout the year and wished everyone a positive and successful 2026.

Later in the Assembly, Mr Quantrill and Mrs Ingamells-Bland presented Prefect badges to the pupils selected for this important role. Colour Captains’ and Sports Captains’ badges were also awarded to pupils who will represent the Colours and lead within their respective sporting disciplines this year.

Finally, Mrs Ingamells-Bland addressed the audience to share how proud she is to represent the School as Headteacher, emphasising what an honour it is to serve in the role.
