Our pupils continued working on their STEM project, showing fantastic creativity and teamwork as they used blocks and loose parts to build magnificent boats outdoors. In English, they explored sea habitats including Kelp Forests, Coral Reefs, the Open Ocean and the Seabed through group watercolour paintings. In Maths, the pupils practised counting to 20 by adding teeth to their sharks using different materials. In Understanding the World, they learned about the Pomfret and Conger eel from the Pacific Ocean around Chile and created colourful stuffed models. In Phonics, we introduced the “oo” sound with Monster Phonics “Cool Blue”, while in PSHE and Circle Time the pupils discussed respecting different opinions and how to practise our Golden Rule, “We are gentle”, through kind words and actions.
