Every year, The Grange School is delighted to host Harvard Book Prize for all 2° and 3°EM pupils.  Entrants are assigned a teacher as a mentor and given three globally significant topics to choose from.  The challenge is to write a high-quality, well-researched 2,000 word essay.

In 2025, we received some outstanding submissions and eventually decided that Clemente Pacheco’s powerfully persuasive essay on the importance of balancing free trade and protectionism was the best.  This essay was then submitted to the Harvard Book Prize committee for consideration against entrants from other schools across Chile.  

On Monday 18th May, at the Harvard Book Prize 2025 award ceremony in Santiago, it was announced that Clemente was the overall winner. We are incredibly proud of his success, and would like to congratulate Clemente on his hard work and thank his mentor, Fred Bate, for his help and support.
