In Prekinder we started a new project where we worked with cyanotypes. Art teachers emulsified papers with special cyanotype chemicals and children made their personal compositions on them using found elements of nature like leaves and ferns. Then, we put them under UV light so that the photosensitive paper “drew” the silhouette of the elements, and finally, we washed them with water. It was an amazing surprise to see how the green paper from the beginning turned blue, leaving the shapes in white.  Children were amazed and very proud of their results!

In 2° Básico, under the topic “What a Wonderful World”, we observed different mushrooms and fungi and pupils drew and coloured them in their sketchbooks. Then they created their own fungi design and drew it on a piece of hessian to later “colour” it with wool. They are learning and discovering the magic of embroidery. It has been fascinating to see everyone so committed to their work as well as showing us the virtue of patience and concentration in order to achieve and embroider their lovely designs.
