A Week of School Birthday Celebrations in Upper Prep

Last Week, The Upper Prep celebrated the School birthday in variety of ways encouraging all pupils to join in in some a small way.

Monday – Boards

Coloured Post-it notes were provided for the children to write wishes and reflections about the school.

Each panel displayed a sentence prompt at the top, such as:

  • My favourite memory at school is…
  • What I like most about my School is…
  • I wish future generations will…
  • This year, as a school, we…

Pupils were invited to complete the sentence on a Post-it note and add it to the corresponding panel. The panels remained displayed throughout the week, allowing children to continue contributing their reflections, memories, and wishes over several days.

Tuesday – Gryphon Hunt

Small Gryphon cut-outs were hidden around Upper Prep during the first break. Pupils who found a Gryphon were invited to place it in their House Points box, with each Gryphon contributing 10 House Points to their house.

Wednesday – Acrostic Poems

Pupils were invited to create an acrostic poem using the word “GRANGE”.

The deadline for submissions was Wednesday, 3rd June. Each poem submitted earned 10 House Points for the pupil’s house.

Thursday – Birthday Assembly

The teachers and pupils of the Upper Prep gathered together in the Balfour Quad donning their Coloured shirts to mark this important day. We heard a little history of the School, heard who won the most gryphons on Tuesday, celebrated the selected winners of the Acrostic Poem competition as well as participated in some trivia time.

Our Grphyon then came to celebrate as we sung Happy Birthday to the School and Miss Ingamells finishing the assembly with her final words.

Friday – Crazy socks, tights and tie day & a Balfour Quad surprise.

Children and teachers came sporting their colourful socks and ties to bring some colour and party-vibes to the last day of the birthday week.

In addition to this, the teachers surprised the children in their first break, dancing along to Waka Waka. We thank the teachers for the time in rehearsing this, as well as to the children who joined in with them!

Excellent IGCSE Results

We’re delighted to celebrate the achievements of our 2° Medio pupils and congratulate them on their excellent IGCSE results.
