We are delighted to share that our Prekinder pupils welcomed firefighters from The British and Commonwealth Fire and Rescue Company (14th Fire Company) to our School as a very special ending to their “People Who Help Us” topic. 

The visit was led by Cristóbal Mena (OG 2001), who introduced the children to the important role firefighters play in keeping our community safe. Pupils had the opportunity to explore the fire engine, learn about the equipment used in emergencies and, to their great excitement, even use a real fire hose. Beyond the thrill of the experience, Cristóbal shared the values that guide firefighters every day: service, humility, courage, commitment and teamwork. 

He also explained how these reflect the long-standing traditions of the company founded by John A S Jackson and his school vision, “We want to form pupils that are trustworthy and will be useful to society”. It was a memorable and inspiring experience that brought learning to life, helping our youngest learners understand how they, too, can make a positive difference in the lives of others.
