Bilingual Early Childhood Educator, from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, with an extensive experience in the field of Education.
María Verónica holds a Diploma in Educational Leadership from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and a Master’s Degree in Applied Philosophy from the Universidad de los Andes. Has participated in various seminars, workshops and talks on vocational and leadership issues, as well as, on educational sustainability.
She started teaching at The Mackay School in Viña del Mar, and then joined the staff of The Grange School in 1989, when she had an active and outstanding participation in the project of implementation and opening of Prekinder year group, joining the first team of teachers at that year group.
Throughout her years, she has held various positions of responsibility, mainly leading in the pre-school area, being in charge of the Prekinder and Kinder year groups. In this last position, in 2009, she was in charge of organising, implementing and starting up the extended (full school day: 8:00 to 15:00) day project for Prekinder.
She is passionate about her profession, History, Ethics and Values. She defines herself as, being intellectually restless, inclined towards reflection and collective work, as well as, the constant improvement of the whole person. She is motivated by direct and indirect contact with both students and their families, being able to guide them and facilitate their personal growth processes. She has great human qualities, charisma and a good sense of humour. Married, with three children, her motto is “If the family is healthy and happy…everything will be fine…there is hope and a great reason to strive and move forward…”.
