Prekinder and 1º Básico

Collaborative Project led by Paz Lira

Prekinder and 1º Básico pupils observed images from Paz Lira’s installation “Transparencia sonora” in MNBA. The artist inspired pupils with bee hives and talked to them about native chilean flowers and trees. Pupils created their own flower close- ups in tins, transforming a daily- life object into an individual and creative artwork.
Each piece is now part of the great image The Grange School Honeycomb.

Kinder and 2º Básico

Collaborative project with Gonzalo Cienfuegos

Kinder and 2º Básico pupils painted acrylic close-ups inspired by the work of the artist Gonzalo Cienfuegos. They used complementary colours to transform “the whole” painting in “pieces and stories” as explained by the artist himself.
Pupils used wash and impasto together with light and shadow.

Jorge Brantmayer and Denise Lira project

During my career as photographer I have worked with different topics and photographic exercises; street photography, studio photography and Portrait. I have realised there is a constant repetition in the photographic interest along my life. I insist on photographing the same situations and objects as a repeated exercise of self- knowledge.
I have discovered my deepest interests through photography and their relation with art, the world and nature. I can say I can define myself through my work and observation. This photographic exercise, sometimes with anguish and fear, and others with complete freedom, work on me as self- construction.

Senior School

Collaborative sculpture with José Vicente Gajardo

Emptiness in this sculpture makes the material lighter and transforms its meaning by keeping spaces and drawers; holes, objects and books. “Estela de la palabra” is a tribute to poets, making poetry alive through this symbolic sculpture as a present act of the modern being. This was a collaborative project created by the artist together with The Grange School pupils.

Senior School

Cristian Salineros Project

The process of covering objects with masking tape allows colour and material visual unity, constructing lightness in the scene.

The idea is to create an artwork gathering objects and structures common to us in order to build a “sculptor event” within the school context and daily-life environment, making a connection between balance and imbalance and reflecting upon the image covered by objects.

Collaborative Installation

Lower Prep pupils have observed Portraits as a topic to celebrate the 90 years of the school and the art exhibition Through the Looking Glass. Pupils have painted Portraits as a reflection of the people from our Community, bringing past and present together. Each pupil has made drawings and sketches with light & shadow and have created collaborative paintings using wash and impasto.
